Hancom will launch the AI-powered intelligence document creation tool Hancom Assistant in 2024 in a bid to catch up with Microsoft in the global market, according to CEO of the local software company, Tuesday.
"Next year will be a year when we will actively expand our AI business. We will continue to target the related market through our own IA (intelligent automation), which performs automated tasks tailored to customer’s business processes in various industries, centered on Hancom Assistant to be released next year,” Kim Yeon-soo, CEO of Hancom, told reporters, partners and investors during a conference in Seoul.
IA is a concept that can be applied across industries by adding AI to automation tools. To expand into the global IA market, Hancom will strengthen its partnerships and consequently aims to sit shoulder to shoulder with global Big Tech companies by utilizing its AI technology, the CEO added.
“Hancom aims to gradually stand out in the global market based on cooperation and investment. We will expand our presence in the intelligent automation market rapidly and contribute to innovatively reducing our customers' time and costs, with the goal of being included in the global Big Tech companies within five years,” Kim said.
Hancom Assistant is an intelligent document production tool that operates by connecting with multiple large language models (LLMs). If users give a command in words, it helps to automatically generate documents by understanding the content and analyzing the intention through LLM, which is similar to Microsoft’s generative AI assistant Copilot.
“Hancom Assistant can provide more advanced features than other services that simply connect LLMs because it uses a script engine to automatically generate documents,” the company said. Hancom plans to release the beta version of Hancom Assistant in the first half of next year.
Hancom plans to establish basses jointly with Hancom Alliance partners for entering the global IA market incorporating AI in the future. It will start with Japan and expand the number of bases. In addition, Hancom is currently pursuing overseas AI company investment, such as the acquisition of European AI companies, and is considering investment in domestic companies.
